Case 4

One daughter with parents

The same case as "Parents and one daughter", presented to emphasize how the daughter's Qur'anic half combines with both parents' shares to exactly exhaust the estate.

Eligible heirs

  • Daughter1/2 - fixed share
  • Mother1/6 - fixed share
  • Father1/3 - fixed share plus residue

Blocked heirs

No relatives are blocked in this case.

Calculation steps

  1. Assign the daughter's fixed 1/2.
  2. Assign the mother's fixed 1/6.
  3. Assign the father's fixed 1/6.
  4. Add the remaining 1/6 residue to the father, since no closer agnate exists: 1/6 + 1/6 = 1/3.
  5. Confirm the total: 1/2 + 1/6 + 1/3 = 1.

Example monetary distribution

Estate value used for this example: PKR 3,000,000

Daughter1/2
Mother1/6
Father1/3

Rule explanation

This case is a useful check that fixed shares and residue always reconcile to exactly the whole estate when no adjustment (Awl or Radd) is needed.
